Yes, I enjoyed traveling on the cheap, the cheaper the ticket, the bigger the sense of accomplishment I got. However, as with everything in life, there was a downside to my flight-booking methodology, and that was stop overs. In this particular case, I was traveling to Medellin, Colombia from Toronto, which required a stop at La Guardia in NYC, then a trip down to Miami, only to arrive in Medellin insanely late after being up since 4am. The trip back was even more “fun” but that’s probably material for another blog post. Oh, did I mention I travelled on Christmas’ Eve?
